How to Change Date Format in your Browser?

Cascade automatically uses the date format that's set on your computer and browser through their locale. If you wish to change that format or if the date format is not as you expect it to be, then this article will explain how to change them. You'll see the steps that need to be followed for some major web browsers - Chrome, Edge Firefox and Safari.

Chrome:

  1. At the top-right of the address bar, click the three dots, and click Settings.

  2. From the left side of Chrome, click Languages.

  3. Click Add languages:

    1. English (United Kingdom) for dd/mm/yyyy format.

    2. English (United States) for mm/dd/yyyy format.

  4. Click the three dots against the chosen language.

    1. Select the Display Google Chrome in this language check-box.

  5. Restart the Chrome browser for the changes to reflect.

Edge:

  1. At the top-right of the address bar, click the three dots, and click Settings.

  2. From the left side of Edge, click Languages.

  3. Click Add languages:

    1. English (United Kingdom) for dd/mm/yyyy format.

    2. English (United States) for mm/dd/yyyy format.

  4. Click the three dots against the chosen language.

    1. Select Display Microsoft Edge in this language.

  5. Restart the Edge browser for the changes to reflect.

Firefox:

  1. At the top-right of the address bar, click the three horizontal lines, and click Settings.

  2. Navigate to the Language and Appearance section.

  3. Click Choose to choose your preferred language:

    1. English (United Kingdom) for dd/mm/yyyy format.

    2. English (United States) for mm/dd/yyyy format.

  4. Or, select the Use your operating system settings for...... check-box to format date, time and numbers according to your region's format.

  5. Restart the Firefox browser for the changes to reflect.

Safari (only for Mac users):

Unlike other browsers, you do not need the Safari browser to be open and running; you need to work on the system settings for the changes to reflect in Safari.

  1. On your Mac, from the top-left, click Apple icon, and click System settings.

  2. From the left navigation pane, select General.

  3. Navigate to Language & Region section.

  4. Under Preferred Languages, click the +icon to choose the language of your choice.

  5. Restart Mac to reflect the change in all applications. For more details, see Mac support.

If you wish to customize settings only for certain apps, you can do so from the Applications section.
